Vehicle classification counts
A vehicle classification count sorts traffic into the FHWA 13-class scheme by direction and time interval. Heavy-vehicle percentages drive pavement design, truck-route planning and HPMS reporting.
Counts are collected by axle-based tubes or vision-based, non-intrusive methods, and are reviewed independently before release.
